Activate Apple Facetime for PC with ios5 and new ios6 and the following different idevices - iPhone, iPad and iPod!
Fans of real-time video chats or phone calls get to take full advantage of that technology via Apple's Facetime program.
Facetime comes standard with the current generation of the iPad, iPhone 4 and 4S.
This software is part of the iOS5 suite for the iDevices and allows real-time video phone calls and chats through the iDevices.
Activating and using Facetime for PC and mobile devices is a matter of opening the app and setting up your account.
On the iDevice, locate the grey, video camera icon. Tap it and wait for the Facetime app to open. You will be given a series of prompts that, for first time users, lets the Facetime program automatically format using an Apple ID.
When the FaceTime "Enter Apple ID" field pops up on PC or device, use the keyboard to enter in the account you wish to use for Facetime chats.
The next field is the "Sync to Contacts". If you wish to sync your contact/address book entries, select "Yes".
Now, in the right hand side of the Facetime application screen, your contacts show up in alphabetical order.
Select the contact from the list you wish to talk with. The recipient of the Facetime call must have an iDevice to accept the chat/call request.
Come fall 2012 when Apple releases iOS6, Facetime will be able to call any smartphone, user device and PC that is equipped with the Facetime software.
Wait for the recipient to receive and accept the call, or if you are the recipient, answer the Facetime request the same way on your PC or mobile device, you would accept a standard phone call.
Align the iDevice camera to the angle you want (there is a small window to the upper right that shows what the other iDevice and PC webcam sees, letting you adjust your position accordingly).
Now, sit back and enjoy a face-to-face conversation from PC to PC, PC to iDevice or iDevice to iDevice just like the old Dick Tracy comic strips used to show as the "technology of the future".
Activate Facetime for PC, iPhone, iPad and iPod to begin enjoying the incredibly advanced world of communications the application makes available to the consumer level.
